When i said that i have a problem with mental health, my mom said "no, you don't!"
When i said that i am sick, my mom said "no! You are not sick."
When i said that i need to go to the psychologist, my mom said, "why? You don't need it. You're healthy."
When i told to my mom about my friend who got mental illness and she got depressed just like me, she said, "why are you hurting me? You're not sick! Stop talking about that. You make me really sad, i feel that i failed to be a good parent for you."
And suddenly i stopped.
But, somehow, my mom said, "if you want to go to the psychologist, i allowing you. Maybe you need it. Just in case you can be more confident and be thankful for your life."
It was surprising to me. But, somehow, i was thinking that i'm too much. So, i said to her, "i don't need it. I can fix myself alone."
My mom was confused, but she never force me.
But, a few days ago, i said to my mom, "i can't stand it anymore. I really can't fix it. This is so hard. I really need a psychologist."
But, unexpectedly, my mom answered, "please be mature, my daughter. Don't hurt yourself. Just try to think about your future and your family. We need you to be healthy. Don't think too much, it will hurt you. Stop thinking about going to a psychologist or whatever. You're strong. You don't need to go there yet. You can fix it by yourself."
After that, i was thinking like what my mom said.
But suddenly, i just watched a video about so many people have problems, many people can have mental illness. It said, "if you have mental illness, and you can't stand it, and make you hurt yourself even other people, please go to a psychologist. It's important for you and people around you."
Now i'm thinking.
I have ever hurted and thought to hurt myself because of (i think) my depression. But now, for these days, i never do that again. At least, rarely. So, should i go to the psychologist when i feel that i don't need it?
